Accurate data on the quantity and quality of the state's fresh water resources is collected by the water monitoring program. This program ensures public confidence in the data and in the management activities and the department's water planning and operates under a certified quality management system. Water monitoring instruments are used to characterize the quality of surface water and groundwater by providing specific parameter information. Water quality parameters include temperature, pH, dissolved oxygen, ORP (oxygen reduction potential), total dissolved solids, biochemical oxygen demand, conductivity, salinity, turbidity, seawater specific gravity and chemical oxygen demand. Water monitoring products may detect such parameters as nitrates, lead, mercury, iron, nitrites, sulfates and others. Monitor your water to know what type of water filtration system is more effective for treatment your water.
